Monday - Memorial's

We began with a wonderful devotional at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at 5:30 am. Believe me when I say that this was the perfect time of the day to visit the Memorial's because it was cool, quiet and very few people around.

We then walked to the Vietnam and Korean Memorial's

Next was a visit to the Jefferson Memorial

World War II Memorial

Paddle Boating on the Tidal Basin (Mrs. Updike said that no one would get wet - I guess she forgot that they where 13, and that we had Brother Peterson)

National Cathedral

The earthquake last year did considerable damage to the Cathedral. The fence surrounds a part that was on the top. They estimate about 20 million dollars worth of damage.
Next was the Arlington National Cemetery

We learned about Catherine Bigelow's grandfather

We then went back to the hotel for a pizza and pool party.
What a long day!!!!
